What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is composed of high and low molecular weight Hyaluronic acid (H-HA & L-HA) that are thermally crosslinked to generate hybrid cooperative complexes that are resistant to enzymatic as well as mechanical degeneration resulting in longer lasting effects. Profhilo comprises of 32 mg of L-HA and 32mg of H-HA, making a total of 64 mg of Hyaluronic acid which is one of highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market.
How does it Work?
Profhilo is injected into the deep dermis of the skin. The slow-release ultra-pure hyaluronic acid stimulates the collagen and elastin in your skin which gives your skin a definite lift and a plumpier look and a marked reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. Moreover, by attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin it hydrates the skin- the Hydro effect.
The body’s natural collagen and elastin production is slowed down as we age. These molecules constitute the structure of the skin. Therefore, they are necessary for the maintenance of elasticity and firmness of our skin. The drop in the amounts of collagen and elastin in your skin shows as fine lines and wrinkles on top of a saggy looking skin.

Who needs it?
Anyone over the age of 30, coping with saggy, lax, wrinkled, dehydrated, dull or sunken skin. There is no upper age limit for Profhilo treatment. What to Expect?
Pre-treatment
You will be advised to refrain from alcohol at least 24 hours prior to your treatment. In addition, you are strongly recommended not to take any sort of aspirin or anti-inflammatory medication, unless needed for a chronic medical condition as this increases the possibility of post treatment bruising.
Treatment
The treatment starts with the application of a numbing cream on the area to be injected. This will make your experience virtually painless. The Profhilo treatment involves the BAP (bio aesthetic point) technique, developed specifically for Profhilo treatment, to maximize the diffusion of the injected hyaluronic acid in facial tissues, for the safest and most optimal results. The clinician will mark these 5 points on each side of your face and then inject the first 2ml of Profhilo treatment at these 5 points separately.
Post treatment
Profhilo is unique in that there is no down time. The slow release of L-HA from the hybrid complexes resulting in low inflammatory response and thus almost nil post treatment redness . However, experts recommend to have at least two Profhilo treatment sessions, for visibly pronounced results. The second session being 4 weeks after the first one.
Additional treatment sessions may be required for more aged skin. However, the multiple treatments can be coupled together for optimal results customizes to ones needs.
However, you are advised to avoid applying cosmetics and refrain from activities that will cause your skin to become sweaty and oily.
Treatment duration
Profhilo treatment is quicker than most of your usual facials, as it takes 30 minutes for the whole session for the whole session to be completed.
